The US. Congress must show leadership in holding the Myanmar military accountable for its coup d’etat and its brutal crimes against humanity. Congress must also show support for Myanmar’s Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and its democratic and multi-ethnic new National Unity Government (NUG).
With the recent historic sanctions by the European Union on the Myanmar’s military’s oil and gas revenues, the U.S. must back up its EU partners with sanctions on the military-controlled Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE).
Please write back and tell me how my representative will vote on this crucial bill next week.
